4-5-4: CARE OF IMPOUNDED ANIMALS:

Animals which are kept in the village pound shall be humanely treated and fed. Such pound shall be under the charge of the chief of police or a person he appoints, who shall be responsible for the care and custody of the same. Unredeemed animals shall be disposed of as provided by the Village President and Board of Trustees. (1966 Code §22.205)
