As public service to local businesses, the police department, when contacted, will pursue its best efforts to collect payment from any person who provides a local business with a check or other order that is not paid by that person's depository bank. Any person who fails to have sufficient funds or credit with their depository bank when a check or other order is issued, or issues a check or other order that is subsequently presented for payment and dishonored, shall pay the police department a collection fee which shall be determined by the board.
