Every three years, through a process outlined in the Rules and Regulations of the St. Michael Fire Department, the Chief shall select from its members who meet the qualifications and requirements of the City Council the following officers: an Assistant Chief, a District Chief, four Captains, and three Lieutenants. All officers so selected shall hold office for three years and until their successors have been duly selected, except that any one or all of them may be suspended by the Fire Chief and/or removed by the City Council for cause.
