The office of Building and Safety Inspector is hereby created. Until such time as the common council may provide for the appointment of a qualified person to devote his full time to the duties of such office, the Mayor, with approval of the common council, shall designate an appropriate City officer or officers as ex officio building and safety inspector. The Building and the Safety Inspector shall have the powers and perform the duties of such office as provided by state law, this Code and/or other ordinances or by resolution of the common council.
