Before entering upon the duties of his office, the City Manager shall take the oath prescribed by law and shall give bond in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000). Such bond shall be approved by Council conditioned to faithfully discharge the duties of his office and to faithfully account for and deliver over all property of the City which may come into his hands or custody, or under his control by virtue of his office.
