(a) The Director of Public Service and Safety is directed to review all requests for indigent burial and is hereby authorized to spend up to a maximum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for required basic services (as stated in Ohio R.C. 5101.52.1) for the interment of an indigent person.
(b) Such funeral, cremation, cemetery, and burial expenses shall not be made to the extent that the recipient, at the time of death, had funds available for such expenses or if total costs exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000). The City shall only make payment for the difference between the resources of the deceased, in real and personal property and insurance, and the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000)
(c) Itemized invoices of basic expenses with regards to funeral, cremation, cemetery, and burial expenses must be provided.
