Prior to obtaining such permit, the City shall be furnished with the following:
(a) A plan and general specifications showing the proposed location, extent and nature of the work contemplated on an application form provided by the City. The cash deposit required shall be determined by the Safety-Service Director or City Engineer, but in no case shall the deposit be less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for any one opening. City departments shall be required to obtain such permits, however, the deposit shall be waived.
(b) For those companies, corporations, or contractors who as a matter of necessity are required to make numerous minor or Type I street openings, the City shall establish a cash deposit on an individual basis. The amount of this cash deposit shall be determined by the Director of Public Service and Safety. This determination will be made based on prior history of the number of street openings made by such company, corporation, etc.
(c) The Safety-Service Director may approve in lieu of a cash bond a surety bond or performance bond in the amount equal to the sum determined adequate to cover the cash bond required for utilities or contractors who carry out regular and on-going street cuts in the City in order to maintain underground utilities. These same entities may place a similar type bond for Type II permits described below.
