8-1-9: SIDEWALK SPECIFICATIONS:
Unless otherwise provided by the board of trustees, all new and replacement public sidewalks shall be constructed as follows: (Ord. 2007-2, 5-22-2007)
   (A)   Sidewalks shall be laid to conform to grade lines to be approved by the village engineer, and shall be constructed of materials and in the manner specified in the most recent, published state of Illinois "Standard Specifications For Road And Bridge Construction". Existing topsoil shall be removed from the area of the proposed sidewalk to a depth as necessary to remove all organic material or ten inches (10"), whichever is greater. The subgrade shall be tamped or rolled until thoroughly compacted and at the proper line and grade as shown on the plans. At locations where the sidewalk is constructed at entrances, the sidewalk shall be thickened to the thickness of the adjacent entrance. Sidewalks shall be sloped a minimum of one-eighth inch (1/8") to each foot in width from the inner to outer edge. (Ord. 2007-8, 11-27-2007)
   (B)   Sidewalks shall be a minimum of six inches (6") thick and four feet (4') wide of Portland cement concrete.
   (C)   No sidewalk or driveway approach (within Village right- of-way) shall be poured until the framing is inspected and approved by the designated Village inspector. (Ord. 2007-2, 5-22-2007)
