For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ANIMAL. Every non-human species, both domestic and wild.
FERAL CAT. A domestic cat which has adapted to survive in the wild, is homeless and ownerless, having descended from stray and possibly generations of abandoned house pets.
IMPOUNDMENT. Possession or seizure of an animal by county animal services for placement in the county’s animal shelter or any other appropriate facility.
