(A) An impounded vehicle is eligible for disposal or sale 15 days after notice to the owner if the vehicle is determined to be a junk vehicle, except that it may have a valid, current registration plate and still be eligible for disposal or sale, or an abandoned motor vehicle.
(B) An impounded vehicle is eligible for disposal or sale 45 days after notice to the owner if the vehicle is determined to be an unauthorized vehicle.
(C) When vehicles, real estate, or other real property has been seized by the Police Department in conjunction with the commission of a state statute designated crime, the Police Department may sell the vehicles, real estate, or other real property by auction, bid, or to a dealer, that have been awarded to the city through the vehicle forfeiture process as outlined in state statutes. Proceeds from these sales will be deposited into the Police Forfeiture Fund and distributed in accordance with state law governing same.
