Upon receipt of an application for any dwelling unit rental license, the City Clerk-Treasurer shall forward a copy of the application to the Building Official/Code Enforcement person, whereupon the Building Official shall, within ten days after receiving the application, inspect the dwelling unit to be licensed to determine whether the unit complies with provisions of applicable codes (the Uniform Fire Code, most recent edition, and the Uniform Housing Code, most recent edition). No dwelling unit rental license shall be issued by the city unless the dwelling complies with provisions of the city code which pertain to the dwelling unit.
