Unless otherwise allowable by state or local law, including emergency vehicles, publicly-owned service vehicles, and other lawful purposes, it is unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle in reverse for a distance in excess of 50 feet upon any street. A violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor.
