(a) Visible dirt on the bottom of swimming pools and family pools and visible scum or floating matter on the surface of pools shall be removed at least once daily with an approved type vacuum cleaner or as often as necessary to maintain good sanitary conditions. All swimming pools shall be thoroughly cleansed at least once each week in a manner and by the use of such disinfecting agents or cleansing materials as may be required by the Health Department and all such pools shall be emptied and the water therein completely changed at least twice each week.
(b) The pool owner shall be instructed in proper care and maintenance of the pool by the supplier or builder, including the use of high test calcium hypochlorite (dry chlorine), or sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine), or equally effective germicide and algaecide, and the proper pH (alkalinity and acidity) control.
