The terms and provisions of this chapter do not apply to any person razing, demolishing or tearing down his own building, or any part thereof, if the work is being done by the person, firm or corporation owning such building, and provided that such building is not within fifteen feet of any public or private lands, building or right of way, and also provided that the razing or demolition of such building is not done by fire, and also provided that such building does not consist of more than 200 square feet.
