(a) Upon the issuance of an order by the Appeals Board reversing an order of granting, denial, revocation or suspension of a handgun license for an individual, all firearms and ammunition surrendered or seized under the provisions of Section 783.07 shall be immediately returned by the Chief of Police to the person whose handgun license was so denied, revoked or suspended.
(b) Any handguns and ammunition surrendered or seized under Section 783.07 shall remain in the custody of the Chief of Police upon a finding by the Appeals Board affirming an order of denial, revocation or suspension of a handgun license; provided, that the person whose handgun permit has been denied, revoked or suspended shall have the right at any time up to one year after such surrender or seizure to dispose of such handguns and ammunition to any dealer or to any other person lawfully permitted to purchase or take possession of such handguns. Any handguns and ammunition not so disposed of shall become the property of the City. (Ord. 1982-26. Passed 3-16-82.)
