(A) The Chief and other officers shall be elected annually by the Department members, subject to confirmation by the Council. Each shall hold office for 1 year and until a successor has been duly elected, except that the Chief may be removed by the Council for cause after a public hearing.
(B) Firefighters and probationary firefighters shall be appointed by the Department members, subject to confirmation by the Council.
(C) Firefighters shall continue as Department members during good behavior and may be removed by the Council only for cause after a public hearing.
