§ 155.01 DEFINITIONS.
For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
AREA, DIGITAL SIGN. The square footage of the sign as measured by multiplying the maximum width by the maximum height of the face of the sign, including borders.
AREA, MONUMENT SIGN. The square footage of the copy of the sign as measured by drawing the smallest possible box around the copy. Only one box is to be drawn per side (see illustration in § 155.02 of this chapter) and only one side is to be measured, assuming a mirror image on the opposite side of the sign. If the sides are not identical, the larger measurement shall be used. This shall constitute the area of the sign, unless the border area around the copy on either side or on the top of the sign is more than 18 inches. In this case, the area of the sign shall be calculated by multiplying the maximum width of the sign by the height of the sign from ground level to the highest part of the sign.
AREA, PYLON SIGN. The square footage of the sign as measured by multiplying the maximum width by the maximum height of the face of the sign, including borders.
AREA, WALL SIGN. The square footage of the copy of the sign as measured by drawing the smallest possible box around the copy. Only one box is to be drawn per sign.

SIGHT TRIANGLE. An area at the intersection of any street, road, driveway or any point of ingress or egress and public street that shall remain clear of obstruction or vegetation higher than three feet and clear of any signs. The triangle’s area shall be measured by extending the curb line or edge of pavement of each paved surface to a point where they intersect; from that point, measure 25 feet back along the said lines and connect the two end points, forming a triangle. (See illustration in § 155.02 of this chapter.)
