Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $700 or by imprisonment for up to 90 days, or both, except as provided by M.S. § 152.027, Subd. 4, as it may be amended from time to time, for a small amount of marijuana.
