901.06 MANNER OF RESTORATION.
   (a)   Upon completion of any repairs to utilities requiring excavation of Village roads, streets and sidewalks the repairing agency or contractor shall cover the excavation with steel plate of sufficient strength to carry the traffic over the excavation without harm to the adjacent roadway and the margins of the excavation, and shall leave such steel plate in place until the permanent repair of the excavation is completed. Steel plates used on sidewalks should have a nonskid surface.
   (b)   The permanent repair shall be completed within sixty days of the completion of the repair of the underground utilities.
   (c)   Permanent repair shall consist of the like thickness and of like material that was originally excavated. Subgrade material shall be compacted to a density of ninety-five percent (95%).
   (d)   No agency or contractor who finds it necessary to excavate in roadways, streets or sidewalks in the Village shall close such an excavation with a temporary asphalt patch.
   (e)   For the purposes of construing this section, “utilities” includes electrical wiring, telephone cables, gas lines, water lines, and storm and sanitary sewer lines.
