(a) Defined. Wall signs shall include all flat signs, directories and showcases which are placed against a building or other structure and securely fastened thereto.
(b) Construction. Wall signs shall be wood or wood frame and sheet metal face. Directories and showcases may be either wood or metal frame with or without glass face.
(c) Permitted Area.
(1) Wall signs shall not have an area greater than two square feet per foot of length, shall not extend beyond that portion of the building used by the occupant and shall not project above the top of the wall to which they are attached.
(2) Directories or showcases shall not have a face area of more than ten square feet when double strength glass is used or more than twenty square feet when plate glass is used.
(d) Projection from Building.
(1) Wall signs shall not project more than six inches beyond the wall of the building or structure to which they are attached.
(2) Directories and showcases shall not project more than three inches beyond the wall of the building to which they are attached and all edges and corners shall be rounded to a radius of at least one-half inch.
(e) Clearance. The bottom edge of all types of wall signs except directories and showcases shall be not less than eight feet six inches above the sidewalk.
