14-9-7: BLOCKS:
   (A)   The lengths, widths and shapes of blocks must be determined with due consideration given to:
      1.   Provision of adequate building sites suitable to the type of use contemplated;
      2.   Zoning requirements as to lot sizes and dimensions;
      3.   Needs for convenient access, circulation, control and safety of street traffic; and
      4.   Limitations and opportunities of topography.
   (B)   Blocks must be at least four hundred feet (400') long but no longer than one thousand eight hundred feet (1,800'). Crosswalk easements are required for blocks more than eight hundred feet (800') long. Crosswalk easements must be at least twelve feet (12') wide and located where deemed necessary by the plan commission. The plan commission may also require additional crosswalks to provide safe and convenient access to schools, parks, shopping areas or other destinations. (Ord. 1379, 6-9-2008)
