9-3-7: SAFETY ZONES AND LANES FOR TRAFFIC:
   (A)   The chief of police is hereby empowered to establish safety zones of such kind and character and at such places as he may deem advisable, consistent with the provisions of this title.
   (B)   The chief of police is also authorized to mark lanes for traffic on street pavements at such places as he may deem advisable, consistent with the provisions of this title. (1972 Code)
