3-10-5: SUBMISSIONS TO BUILDING INSPECTOR:
All property owners or contractors applying for a building permit for new residential construction in the city of Spring Valley shall be required to submit to the Spring Valley building inspector, prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy, a certification from the general contractor that the home has been built in accordance with all construction codes adopted by the city of Spring Valley. If the general contractor hires subcontractors to perform any work for the general contractor, the general contractor must also provide a certificate from any carpentry subcontractor, concrete subcontractor, drywall subcontractor, EFS, drivit and plastering subcontractor, electrical subcontractor, excavation subcontractor, plumbing subcontractor, HVAC subcontractor, masonry subcontractor, sewer and drainage subcontractor, swimming pool or hot tub subcontractor, demolition subcontractor and/or wrecking subcontractor certifying that the subcontractor has performed its work in accordance with all applicable building codes adopted by the city of Spring Valley. Failure to submit the certifications required by this chapter may result in the denial of a certificate of occupancy by the city of Spring Valley. (Ord. 1370, 3-3-2008)
