(A) There is hereby adopted by the city of Spring Valley for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures, including permits and penalties, that certain building code known as the international building code, latest edition, including any amendments, deletions or additions thereto incorporated into said international building code after the passage of the ordinance codified herein or any revisions or subsequent modifications thereof made after the passage of the ordinance codified herein. If the international building code or any other code adopted by the city of Spring Valley allows for more than one option for construction or design, the most restrictive option shall apply, unless permission to deviate from the most restrictive option is granted to the applicant by the Spring Valley city council, after review and recommendation by the Spring Valley city engineer, the Spring Valley building inspector or the Spring Valley fire chief, as appropriate.
(B) There is hereby adopted by the city of Spring Valley for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for mechanical equipment used in building construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance, including permits and penalties, that certain mechanical code known as the international mechanical code, latest edition, including any amendments, deletions or additions thereto incorporated into said international mechanical code after the passage of the ordinance codified herein or any revisions or subsequent modifications thereof made after the passage of the ordinance codified herein. If the international mechanical code allows for more than one option for construction or design, the most restrictive option shall apply, unless permission to deviate from the most restrictive option is granted to the applicant by the Spring Valley city council, after review and recommendation by the Spring Valley city engineer, the Spring Valley building inspector or the Spring Valley fire chief, as appropriate. (C) There is hereby adopted by the city of Spring Valley for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of buildings and structures, including permits and penalties, that certain building code known as the 2012 international existing building code, latest edition, including any amendments, deletions, or additions thereto incorporated into said international existing building code after the passage of the ordinance codified herein or any revisions or subsequent modifications thereof made after the passage of the ordinance codified herein. If the 2012 international existing building code adopted by the city of Spring Valley allows for more than one option for existing construction or existing design, the most restrictive option shall apply, unless permission to deviate from the most restrictive option is granted to the applicant by the Spring Valley city council, after review and recommendation by the Spring Valley city engineer, the Spring Valley building inspector or the Spring Valley fire chief as appropriate.
