2-4-10: PARK CUSTODIAN DUTY:
The park custodian position is created to assist the park supervisor with the duties assigned to the park supervisor by the park board. The park custodian position is created in order to ensure that there will be an employee available to perform the duties assigned to the park supervisor on weekends and on holidays when the park supervisor may not be at work. Additionally, the park custodian may be assigned by the park board to assist the park supervisor during those times during the year when the duties assigned to the park supervisor cannot be reasonably completed by only one employee. The park custodian position shall be a part-time position. The park custodian shall not be allowed to work more than five hundred ninety-nine (599) hours in any fiscal year (May 1st to April 30th) and the park custodian position will not receive any benefits other than the salary paid to the park custodian. Before hiring a park custodian, the park board must provide the city council with the name of the proposed park custodian, the wage to be paid to the park custodian and the days and hours during which the park custodian will be expected to work and receive approval from the city council to hire a park custodian.
