§ 33.01 CHIEF OF POLICE, POLICE OFFICERS; POWERS AND DUTIES.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall perform such duties as shall be prescribed by the governing body for the preservation of peace.
   (B)   (1)   All police officers shall possess the powers necessary for effective law enforcement.
      (2)   Police officers shall execute and serve all warrants, process commitments, and writs as issued.
      (3)   Police officers may pursue and arrest any person fleeing from justice in any part of the state and when performing the duties aforesaid, may arrest and detain any person guilty of any breach of the peace or any violation of the laws of the state or ordinances of the city.
      (4)   Police officers shall perform such other services as may be required or directed by the ordinances or the Common Council.
