(1) Every outdoor private, residential or family pool shall be completely surrounded by a fence or wall not less than six feet (6') in height, which shall be so constructed as not to have openings, holes or gaps larger than four inches (4") in any dimension except for doors and gates, and if a picket fence is erected and maintained, the horizontal dimension shall not exceed four inches (4"). A dwelling or accessory building may be used as part of such enclosure.
(2) All gates and doors opening through such enclosure shall be equipped with a self-closing and self-latching device located at least forty-five inches (45") above grade level for keeping the gate or door securely closed at all times, except that the door of any dwelling which forms a part of the enclosure need not be so equipped.
(3) The provisions of this section shall be applicable to all family pools other than indoor pools.
