(a) No person shall lease, let, permit the occupancy of, permit the continuation of the occupancy of, or continue the occupancy of, a structure, building or portion thereof used for human habitation, unless such structure, building or portion thereof is free from unclean and unsanitary conditions, as provided in this chapter, and unless this chapter is complied with.

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
