5-4-23: PROPERTY OWNERS MAY IMPOUND:
Any person finding an animal at large upon his property may remove the same to any animal shelter that will take possession of the animal. Any person doing so shall inform the shelter operator of the location where the animal was captured, type of animal, and any other information which may be relevant to locating the owner or circumstance concerning the animal. If no such shelter is available, the property owner may humanely hold the animal in his own possession and immediately notify the animal safety officer. The property owner shall provide a description of the animal and the name of the owner if known. (Ord. 436, 3-1-1999)
