A. Penalty: Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the City is guilty of a misdemeanor unless a civil penalty or infraction penalty is either specifically provided for such violation or necessitated by operation of law. Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance of the City, any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the ordinances of the City shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or by imprisonment not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. For infraction violations of any ordinance of the City, unless another infraction penalty is specifically provided, the penalty shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). Civil penalties shall be as set forth in this Code. (Ord. 578, 2-13-2018)
B. Civil Action: The City may undertake civil legal action in a court of competent jurisdiction to seek to enjoin conduct which violates the provisions of any ordinance of the City and/or to recover the reasonable costs of activities deemed necessary to bring about compliance herewith.
