(A) (1) The Village Council members shall be paid $80 per Council meeting attended, and attendance at the meeting is required as a pre-condition for payment, payable in quarterly installments on a date to be determined by the Village Fiscal Officer.
(2) The effective date of the pay increase for those Council members with a term expiring on December 31, 2023 shall be January 1, 2028.
(3) The effective date of the pay increase for those Council members with a term expiring on December 31, 2025 shall be January 1, 2026.
(B) In accordance with R.C. § 731.45, the Village Council may punish or expel any member for disorderly conduct or violation of its rules, and declare the member’s seat vacant for absence without valid excuse where such absence has continued for two months. No expulsion shall take place without the concurrence of two-thirds of all members elected, and until the delinquent member has been notified of the charge against him or her and has had an opportunity to be heard.
