(A) The Town Board shall make a decision on the proposed amendment within 60 days after the public hearing. Prior to adopting or rejecting any zoning amendment, the Town Board shall adopt a statement describing whether its action is consistent with any adopted comprehensive plan and explaining why the Board considers the action taken to be reasonable and in the public interest, as provided in G.S. § 160A-383.
(B) Only two petitions for rezoning of any parcel or tract will be heard by the Town Board within a 12-month period. This time period shall begin on the date the first petition is heard by the Planning Board.
