§ 32.056 COUNCIL ACTION.
   After receiving the recommendations and report of the Compensation Advisory Board, the City Council may, but is not required to, by ordinance, change the compensation of any such official, subject to the requirements of state law. However, the City Council may not increase the compensation of any such official to an amount greater than that recommended by the Compensation Advisory Board.
