§ 32.255 ASSISTANT CHIEF OF POLICE.
   Whenever the Chief of Police shall be out of the city or unable to act on account of sickness or any other reason, the Mayor may designate some other member of the Police Department to act as Chief of Police during the temporary absence or inability of the Chief of Police, and such person shall, during such period, have and exercise all the powers and duties which the Chief of Police, himself or herself, shall have.
