§ 31.076 FIRE CHIEF.
   The Fire Chief shall be hired by the city in the same manner as other department heads employed by the city. The Fire Chief shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to the administration and operations of the City Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall develop and implement policies and procedures to govern administration and operation of the Department and shall be responsible for the discipline, training, records and conduct of all Fire Department personnel, to include career and volunteer. Under the general direction of the Mayor and/or the City Administrator, the Fire Chief shall be responsible for the enforcement of all laws, ordinances and regulations pertaining to fire protection; and for the care and maintenance of all property of the Fire Department. The Fire Chief, or his or her designated officer, shall respond to all calls for service and emergency incidents, shall direct all activities at said incidents and shall prepare reports that document response activities, to the degree necessary, to meet and comply with city, state and national reporting requirements.
