(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of pawnbroker without first obtaining a license from the Finance Officer. Any person applying for a pawnbroker license must, before his or her application will be considered, come to the Police Department and furnish adequate identification. No license under this chapter shall be issued to any person who has been convicted of a felony. No license under this chapter shall be issued to any corporation of which one or more officers or directors have been convicted of a felony.
(B) The annual license fee for pawnbrokers shall be $50 payable in advance by January 1 of each year.
