§ 111.07 INSURANCE; BOND.
   (A)   No permit shall be issued for the construction of a building or structure in the city, or for the repair or alteration of any building, structure, street or right-of-way, unless a certificate or other proof is filed showing that the contractor is licensed by the city and carries workers’ compensation insurance with limits that comply with the State Workers’ Compensation Law, being SDCL Title 62. Contractor must also carry public liability insurance with single limits of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. Contractor shall also provide state excise tax license number.
   (B)   Before any contractor doing any work for the city on any street or highway or on any building or premises owned by the city commences work, he or she shall file with the City Zoning Administrator a certificate or other proof showing that he or she carries workers’ compensation and public liability insurance as required by ordinance and the terms of his or her contract.
