(A) Removal of monuments prior to burial. A monument may be removed before grave digging and then replaced once the grave has been prepared. The monument removal and replacement will be at the rightsholder’s expense.

(B) Location of monuments. Only one upright monument is allowed per cemetery parcel. Additional monuments and foot stones must be flush with the ground. The location of monuments on all graves shall be determined by the cemetery staff. A permanent monument must be placed within two years of burial.

(C) Monument permit.
(1) A permit is required before placement, repair, engraving or replacement of monuments. The permit must be obtained through the finance office.
(2) The following information must be provided at least two business days prior to the placement of the monument:
(a) Name of deceased and name and contact information for contact person;
(b) Block, section, lot and space ID of which monument placement or work is to be done;
(c) Name of the monument company doing the placement or work;
(d) Type of work to be done and date placement or work is to be completed; and
(e) A diagram of the cemetery parcel showing exact placement of the monument(s).
