§ 90.007 EXOTIC OR NATIVE WILDLIFE.
   (A)   A person may keep any exotic or native wildlife provided they are kept in compliance with state game, fish and parks laws, this section and city ordinances.
   (B)   The owner shall register with the animal control officer his or her name, address and type of animal kept who shall notify the State Game, Fish and Parks Department.
   (C)   The animal shall be kept separate from all domestic animals to prevent breeding and transmission of disease and shall be confined to ensure minimum contact with human beings. The animal control officer shall inspect the enclosure to ensure that these terms are met.
   (D)   If any such animal attacks or bites any person, the animal shall be tested pursuant to SDCL § 40-12-5.
   (E)   The animal control officer or any police officer may confiscate, impound or destroy any such animal found in violation of this section. The owner shall pay any impoundment costs and fines.
