§ 30.27 APPOINTMENT.
   (A)   (1)   The Commission shall be composed of nine members, a majority of whom shall be residents of the township. All members shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Township Board to a three-year term (except as provided in division (B) below). In the event there shall be a vacancy of any unexpired term, the Township Board shall appoint a member to fill that vacancy for the unexpired term. A member shall serve until a successor is appointed.
      (2)   Other individuals having an interest in historical work, upon approval of the Commission, may participate by contributing their services to the Historical Commission. They will be known as “Friends of the Historical Commission” and considered as associate members. Associate members have no voting rights.
   (B)   (1)   In order to increase the number of Historical Commission members from five to nine pursuant to division (A) above, the Township Board shall appoint four additional Historical Commission members.
      (2)   Of the four members so appointed, two shall be appointed to a term of three years, one shall be appointed for a term of two years and one shall be appointed for a term of one year.
      (3)   Thereafter, all terms shall be three years as provided in division (A) above.
