(A) The rates of fares to be charged for taxicab services by any person owning, operating or controlling any taxicab shall not be in excess of the rates established by resolution of the Council from time to time. The schedule of rates of fares for taxicabs shall be maintained on file in the office of the Town Clerk. Until provided otherwise by resolution of the Council, the following rates shall continue in effect:
(1) Mileage: Not greater than $2 per mile, which may be measured in increments of 1/10 mile at the rate of $0.20 per 1/10 mile.
(2) Waiting time: Not greater than $ 12 per hour.
(3) Hand baggage/groceries and other bulky items: A maximum amount of $1 per person per trip may be charged.
(4) Maximum initial fee upon entering taxi: $2.
(B) A sign setting forth these maximum rates shall be posted inside the taxicab at a conspicuous place where it will be visible to passengers.
