§ 155.044 SUBDIVISION NAME MARKERS.
   (A)   The Division of Highways will review requests to erect subdivision name markers on an individual basis. The name markers may be allowed to be located within the state highway system secondary road rights-of-way at the beginning of a subdivision road provided the location of such is outside the line of sight and the normal maintenance limits. The name markers may be approved only at locations which will not sacrifice safety to the general traveling public.
   (B)   Approval to erect subdivision name markers will be with the following understandings. (See § 155.071 for typical dimensions associated with marker installation.)
      (1)   All costs will be the responsibility of the requester.
      (2)   The Division of Highways will not maintain the marker or the area around the marker.
      (3)   The markers may be removed if not properly maintained.
      (4)   The Division Engineer may allow the subdivision name markers on secondary road rights-of-way after review on an individual basis.
      (5)   If non-breakaway design, a 30-foot recommended recovery area is desirable.
