In addition to the authorities granted the local health department and animal control officers by this chapter, officers of the Town Police Department shall have equal authority to act under the authority of this chapter when, in the discretion of the Town Manager, law enforcement action is necessary for the protection of public safety. This shall include discretionary authority to slay any animal which is deemed a threat to public safety.
