(A) There is hereby created the office of Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with the advice and consent of City Council and shall reside within the corporate limits of the city.
(B) The Fire Chief shall be responsible for the care of the apparatus belonging thereto and the performance of the members of the Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall keep records and make reports regarding the activities of his or her Department as may be required by the Mayor.
