Police officers subordinate to the Chief of Police shall be appointed by the Chief of Police with the approval and consent of the Mayor and City Council and shall receive the compensation as the Mayor and City Council may establish by resolution. All full-time employees of the Police Department shall reside within a radius of 20 miles, the centerpoint thereof being Sparta City Hall located at 114 W. Jackson St., Sparta, Illinois.
