(A) The provisions of this chapter shall apply within the corporate limits of the city.
(B) Nothing contained in these regulations shall impose restrictions with respect to land used or to be used for agricultural purposes or with respect to the erection, maintenance, repair, alteration, remodeling or extension of buildings or structures used or to be used for agricultural purposes upon the land, except buildings or structures for agricultural purposes shall conform to building or setback lines, and a permit with respect to land used for agricultural purposes and buildings thereon may be required, but without charge therefor.
(C) Except as hereinafter provided:
(1) No building or land shall, after this chapter is passed, be used or occupied and no building or part thereof shall be erected, moved or altered unless in conformity with the regulations herein specified for the district in which it is located;
(2) No building shall after this chapter is passed, be erected or altered to exceed the height; to accommodate or house a greater number of families; to occupy a greater percentage of lot area; or to have a narrower or smaller rear yard, front yard, side yard, inner or outer court than is specified herein for the district in which the building is located;
(3) No part of a yard, or other open space, or off-street parking, or unloading space about any building required for the purpose of complying with the provisions of the standards in this chapter shall be included as part of a yard, open space, off-street parking or unloading space similarly required for another building, except as otherwise provided in this chapter;
(4) Every building hereafter erected or structurally altered shall be located on a lot as herein defined and in no case shall there be more than one main building on one lot, except as otherwise provided in this chapter; and/or
(5) No parcel of land described by metes and bounds or any lot shall hereafter be created which does not conform and meet the requirements of this chapter.
