1484.01 CIRCUMSTANCES PERMITTING NATURAL LANDSCAPING.
   Effective January 1, 2003, contiguous properties totaling eight (8) acres or more in size which are otherwise required to be maintained as a manicured, mown lawn open space in accordance with the Subdivision Rules and/or Subdivision approval process in the Village of South Russell, may be landscaped using natural landscaping techniques and methods, notwithstanding the restrictions imposed upon grass lawns under Chapter 678 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of South Russell, and in accordance with an approved natural landscaping management plan as set forth in Section 1484.02. For purposes of this chapter, “natural landscaping” shall mean landscaping which principally uses hardy, primarily native, plants and vegetation, including wildflowers and prairie grasses, which require little or no artificial planting and care.
