1474.02 CONCRETE USAGE AND QUALITY.
   (a)    Concrete shall:
      (1)    Contain a cement content of six bag mix, at ninety-four pounds per bag, of Portland cement. Concrete for driveways shall have a minimum strength of 4,000 pounds per square inch in twenty-eight days.
      (2)    Have an air entrainment of six percent to eight percent at the time of pour, for exterior concrete exposed to weathering agents and chemical attacks;
      (3)    Consist of sound, coarse aggregate, one inch or smaller;
      (4)    Contain not more water than will permit a slump between a minimum of four inches and a maximum of six inches; and
      (5)   Have a uniform thickness of four inches in the driveway and six inches in the apron, from the property line to the curb or street line.
   (b)    The quality of concrete at the surface of slabs and driveways should be the same as it is throughout in thickness.
   (c)    Fine and coarse aggregate should meet ASTM C 33 standards or have a suitable service record. The cement should meet ASTM C 150 or C 595 standards.
   (d)    No extra water shall be added to the workable concrete mix at the job site.
   (e)    De-icers containing ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulphate shall not be used. (Ord. 1982-34. Passed 11-8-82.)
