A Chairman of the Board of Building Code Appeals shall be elected annually from among the appointed members by a majority vote of the full membership. Such election shall be held at the first regularly scheduled meeting in January of each year, except that the first election shall be held as soon as is practical following the passage of this chapter (Ordinance 1980-23, passed March 24, 1980) and the appointment of the Board. The Chairman shall preside at all meetings of the Board, sign all official decisions, rulings and reports on behalf of the Board and perform other duties as are necessary or incident to his office.
