1444.10 DUTIES; REPORTS TO COUNCIL.
    The Building Inspector shall enforce all Village ordinances relating to building and inspect all buildings or structures being erected or altered, as frequently as may be necessary, to ensure compliance with such ordinances. The Inspector shall also enforce all applicable Village ordinances relating to the repair, removal and safety of buildings, structures, elevators, heating apparatus, gas fittings, house drainage and plumbing, steam boilers, electrical wiring, the prevention of smoke, fire escapes and other fire protective devices. The Inspector shall pass upon all questions relating to the strength and durability of buildings and structures and the quality of materials and workmanship, so far as they affect safety. He shall examine and approve all plans and specifications therefor, before a permit is issued, and shall sign and issue all permits, certificates and notices required to be issued. He shall promptly acknowledge the receipt of all official communications, notices and reports pertaining to the Building Department. In the course of examining buildings during construction, alteration, repair or removal, the Inspector shall make written reports to Council of all violations of laws or ordinances which he is required to enforce, which reports shall include the street and number where such violations are found, the name of the owner, agent, lessee, occupant, architect, contractor or master mechanic and all other matters relative thereto.
